Historic Country Inn Changes Hands
(October 1, 2013) — The sale of The Country Inn for $800,000 to Larry, Andy, and Matt Omps of Morgan County was completed on September 30, 2013.
The Omps family were the high bidders in a foreclosure sale at the Morgan County Courthouse on August 28. The new name of the business is The Country Inn at Berkeley Springs.
Matt Omps told The Morgan Messenger the family planned to open the rooms and the spa in November and the restaurant would possibly open in December. The hotel has been closed for business since May 5, 2013.
Renovations are continuing on the 65 rooms to get them ready for an official opening. A spa operator, Dawn Forsythe of the Bath House Spa, has been hired to run the spa at the Inn called Renaissance Space.
The Country Inn will reopen in November as The Country Inn at Berkeley Springs.
